Family Financial Credit Union has been named one of Forbes’ America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions for 2026, earning the No. 3 spot in Michigan among just 11 credit unions recognized statewide.

The annual rankings, produced by Forbes in partnership with market research firm Statista, are built around the experiences of consumers. Approximately 26,000 U.S. residents were surveyed about financial institutions they use or know, rating them on overall satisfaction, likelihood to recommend, trust, service, digital tools, financial guidance and fee transparency. More than 1.2 million online reviews and ratings were also analyzed.

What makes FFCU’s recognition even more remarkable is our size. With approximately $176 million in assets, Family Financial is by far the smallest credit union among Michigan’s 11 honorees. The next smallest, PFCU, has approximately $873 million in assets, while most institutions on the list exceed $1 billion.

For FFCU Board Chair Kevin Huss, the recognition speaks to the continued importance of the credit union difference.

“At a time when people are looking for financial institutions they can trust, credit unions are more important than ever. We exist to serve our members and communities, and that personal connection is something that truly matters.”

FFCU CEO Deb Dietz believes FFCU’s size is part of what makes the recognition so meaningful.

“Being recognized alongside some of Michigan’s largest credit unions shows that being one of the best isn’t about being the biggest. It’s about knowing our members, investing in our communities and delivering the personal service people deserve.”

The honor also reflects the dedication of #TeamFFCU, whose commitment to building relationships, solving problems and providing exceptional service helps create the member experience behind this recognition.

For FFCU, this recognition is a celebration of our members, our employees and the communities we’ve proudly served since 1942.
